The mission of the Texas Water Development Board’s Regional Water Planning Department is to guide and support planning of the state’s water resources by administering and assisting in the development of the regional and state water plans. The department strives to improve the planning process each cycle by developing clear guidance for the program’s stakeholders and utilizing best-available data, methodologies, and technical innovations.
Activities include providing administrative and technical assistance for the state’s regional water planning groups; funding and managing regional water planning grant contracts; collection, analysis, and dissemination of state water planning data; development and maintenance of the Interactive State Water Plan; and reviewing financial assistance loan applications.
